Very sad news: No one has stepped up to be the DPAC Chair. There are more than 14,000 students in our District, and no one has said that they would like to lead the continued liaison between those 14,000 students' parents (and their PACs) and our School District's Trustees and Superintendent.
This is a huge disappointment. Jessica, your Treasurer, and Myself, your Secretary, cannot be this huge link on our own. As a result, we are suspending DPAC and going on hiatus unless someone steps up before the Executive meets on May the 3rd.
To be completely honest, I'm stunned that other parents feel that sitting around a table with the big decision makers in our district, the Trustees and the Superintendent, is not valuable.
Please. Consider volunteering your time for these 2 meetings a month. I'm attaching a sample job description below.
ON OTHER NOTES:
1) FoodSafe is full. For the 12 people who signed up, don't forget to bring a lunch to your full day session on Saturday. Your educator's name is Karen, and she'll have Interior Health Certificates available for you at the end of the day. You will be Certified, and can now lead your school fundraisers that include food.
2) ASKABLE ADULT is not full. Parents asked us to put on this wonderful session so we need you to get the word out that it's happening next TUESDAY the 26th of April at Aberdeen Elementary at 6pm. Please register with me in advance.
