The District Parent Advisory Committee of SD73 is pleased to announce they will be hosting a public forum for SD73 Board of Education Trustee candidates on October 16th, 2018 at 7pm at the Henry Grube Education Centre.  The purpose of this event is to introduce the public to the candidates running for Board of Education Trustee positions (Area 1) in the October 20th election.  The objective is to inform as many people as possible the positions of each candidate, as well as to allow SD73 parents and families to ask questions of the candidates.

There are 10 people running for five (5) trustee positions from Trustee Electoral Area 1 for a four (4) year term:

  • Adam Jensen

  • Kerri Schill

  • John O’Fee

  • Heather Grieve

  • Donovan Cavers

  • Joe Small

  • Beat Klossner

  • Meghan Wade

  • Kathleen Karpuk

Our Moderator will be Shane Woodford from Radio NL.  Following introductions, there will be a question and answer session.  The audience will have an opportunity to submit questions, in writing.  After the questions are read, each candidate will then be given time to respond.

Trustees engage their communities in building and maintaining a school system that reflects local priorities, values and expectations. School trustees listen to their communities, guide the work of their school district and set plans, policies and the annual budget. Reflecting the strength of local representation, boards report back to their communities on how students are doing. Boards are directly accountable to the people they serve. Everyone is welcome – Mark the date and don’t miss this opportunity to meet and ask questions of the Board of Education Trustee Candidates (Area 1) prior to the October 20th election.
